Action for Women is powered entirely by volunteers. We recruit passionate advocates for human rights and social justice on a continual basis to stand with us and our friends fleeing war and persecution.
If you are interested in volunteering, please read the descriptions below and follow the link to the appropriate Google Form(s). We aim to respond within 7 working days, either to set up a meeting or call to discuss opportunities and next steps. To ensure we can utilise your skills effectively we ask that you provide as much information as possible. We respect your privacy and will not share your data outside of our organisation.
We thank you for your trust and look forward to hearing from you.
Volunteering in Switzerland
We understand that not everyone is able to commit being onsite in Greece for at least 30 days. Our Swiss-based volunteers carry out a wide range of tasks and projects with the Zürich team to predominantly support our work in Greece.
We welcome those with a background in communications, journalism, grant writing, fundraising etc. Or simply, proactive self starters who are enthusiastic and have a flair for multi-tasking and organising community fundraising events.
Complete the below form if you are able to volunteer with us in Switzerland. You will be contacted with a date to attend our next volunteer induction session in Zürich city.
For those based outside Zürich, and have a particular skill we are urgently seeking, we will also be in touch to arrange a Skype meeting!
Volunteering in Greece
Due to the nature of our work in Greece, we only accept female volunteers who are over 21 years old and able to stay for at least 30 days. If you consider yourself dynamic, mentally strong, calm, highly organised and a team player, we want to hear from you!
There is a particular need for volunteers with experience/backgrounds in psychology, sexual gender-based violence, and/or social work as well as those who are fluent in Arabic, Farsi, French, Sorani, or Kurmanji.
If you think you have what it takes to join us in Greece, we ask that you first review our Volunteer Code of Conduct to understand our expectations before completing the form below.
Applicants who meet our criteria will be contacted for a two-stage interview process. Long term volunteers or volunteers who speak certain languages (Greek/Arabic/French/Farsi/Kurdish) will receive priority consideration.
